The Senior Manager/Associate Director, CRM Application oversees the Customer Relationship Management platform and small development team. As the technical owner of SomaLogic’s CRM platform (Salesforce.com), this position is responsible for working with business and technology stakeholders to ensure the platform is configured as an effective and efficient Sales and Customer Support tool. This is a hands-on role that will be actively involved in configuring the system and implementing enhancements, in addition to supervising a small team of employees and occasional system implementer consultants/vendors. The Senior Manager/Associate Director will maintain the project backlog and ensure efficient delivery of new system capabilities. Level will be commensurate with experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead small Salesforce.com CRM application team
  • Work with the business owner(s) in Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, etc. to identify and prioritize requirements and enhancement requests
  • Manage the CRM request backlog and deliver appropriate solutions
  • Design and develop solutions on Salesforce platform
  • Coordinate with other technical teams to ensure appropriate end-to-end architectures and integrations are implemented
  • Perform the “technical owner” role for the CRM application, ensuring overall health and effectiveness of the platform
  • Maintain an expert knowledge of the CRM system and the platform’s future direction
  • Provide technical leadership and depth to the CRM development team
  • Implement software development best practices
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture to ensure technical standards are defined and implemented
  • Work with Regulatory and Security groups to ensure compliance and security requirements are implemented and followed
  • Perform all management responsibilities for the development of staff (performance reviews, objectives, etc.)
  • Provide mentoring, career development and coaching for developers and development leads
  • Assist IT management with budget and forecast planning
  • Effectively communicate status to stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Promote culture of continuous improvement

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Preferred majors include Computer Science or other technology-related majors

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in software application roles in midsized to large companies
  • At least 5 years of experience leading CRM application teams
  • Demonstrated mastery of Salesforce platform and CRM concepts
  • Strong knowledge of CRM-related business capabilities and processes, including Sales Force Automation (SFA) and Customer Service
  • Experience with Sales dashboards and metrics reporting a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships and building consensus with diverse groups of stakeholders at multiple levels (managers, individual contributors, department heads, etc.)
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups; ability to manage conflict to resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience managing and coordinating external resources (contractors and service providers)
  • Experience with Release Management and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) release processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver enterprise-level services in dynamic, mid-market growth companies; must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive toward clarity
  • Ability to create positive and high-performance work cultures
  • Prefer experience in a regulated environment, such as biotechnology, healthcare, or aerospace
  • Experience with compliance frameworks including HIPAA and PCI preferred
