IT Services: About us Working at The University of Manchester About This Role An opening has arisen for an Integration Developer to join the Data Service and Integration Team in IT Services. The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a complex network of integration routines linking both the University's internal systems and those of a number of strategic external partners. The role involves working with business users and IT colleagues to define integration requirements, and to provide solutions based upon our core integration technologies. Primarily, this will be within softwareAG's webMethods stack. A detailed knowledge of Web Service integration and SQL is essential for the role. Our team also supports a large number of batch interfaces driven from our Calopus and SSIS tools. These include connecting our systems via SQL, API and file-based integrations. Our integration data hub also forms a key component in managing the data flowing across the University's systems. Integration is core to most projects IT Services undertake at the university, and assignment to ongoing projects will form a common part of the role. The work will also include providing day-to-day support and development to our existing suite of integrations. Essential role requirements: • A detailed understanding of creating & consuming SOAP/REST web services. • Experience with a web service messaging technology (preferably webMethods, but knowledge of alternative products would also be considered) • Good SQL skills.
