Job description

The Enterprise Solutions Architect (ESA) position is responsible for designing, organizing, developing, modifying, installing, and supporting ProPharma Group’s enterprise application portfolio. The primary role of the ESA is to convert user requirements into an architecture and design for specific system solutions. This role also ensures that ProPharma Group’s portfolio of enterprise applications is integrated where appropriate to provide consolidated data management and reporting capabilities.

Essential Functions Include:

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, Business Systems Analyst, and technical teams in planning, designing, and architecting custom software and integrations with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Review and prioritize application portfolio needs.
  • Migrate data from legacy systems to new solutions, including development of migration/upgrade plans.
  • Develop and comply with system life cycle processes and procedures.
  • Design and maintain development operations (DevOps) process, including unit testing, continuous integration, and automated code builds.
  • Document functional requirements derived from business needs and design specifications.
  • Design and develop custom software and database solutions to intake, store and retrieve information.
  • Validate solutions against standards and regulations, including initial code validation, design reviews, and design of solution testing.
  • Establish deployment plans, and work with technical teams to deploy and configure solutions.
  • Provide user support, including configuration changes, data imports and exports, custom/ad hoc requests, troubleshooting issues, and resolution issues. Serve as a “trusted advisor” providing analysis, guidance, and design of processes, people, and technology solutions.
  • Provide insight into the changing database storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in application solutions.
  • Develop database design and architecture documentation including conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
  • Help maintain the integrity and security of company databases.
  • Provide advice and make decisions about which technical solutions would be suitable to use for various projects.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and Director, Enterprise Applications to develop budgets and timelines for solutions.
  • Assess and evaluate risk as required.
  • Mentor, educate, and train Enterprise Application colleagues.
  • Troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
  • Microsoft SQL, Oracle, SQL Development
  • One or more programming languages such as Java or C#
  • Data modeling and database design
  • 5+ years’ experience in a data analysis or business systems analyst role
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools
  • Proven history of generating innovative and effective solutions
  • Experience working on complex software projects
  • Experience working in Clinical Systems and/or Argus (Pharmacovigilance) systems recommended
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data warehouse best practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile and waterfall development methodology and concepts.
  • Understanding of information systems and data life-cycle management best practices and methodologies, and systems development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms, ETL tools, and SQL.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Must be critical thinker with the ability to solve problems.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to explain complex technical topics in an easily digestible.
  • Must be able to manage projects to completion working with internal and external resources.
