Job Description: Our client is looking for a Senior Back-End Java Developer with 10+ years’ experience responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your coworkers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with server-side logic.
Provides high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff.
Develops architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines.
Develops strategy of system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy.
Advises on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Sets standards for the database structure for the organization including structured (Relational, Columnar) and unstructured data (Big Data).
Advises of feasibility of potential future projects to management.
Provide guidance to other developers.
Solid understanding and extensive work experience in Java based technologies and platforms.
Basic understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors, such as LESS and SASS.
Communication with multiple applications and systems.
Experience working on/leading Agile teams practicing Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery utilizing DevSecOps.
Experience in Web Services.
Messaging using REST, SOAP, XML and JSON.
Understanding accessibility and security compliance.
User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes.
Data migration, transformation, and scripting.
Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms such as mobile vs desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform.
Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Proficient understanding of OWASP security principles.
Understanding of “session management” in a distributed server environment.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems; or related discipline.
