The UNIX systems administrator position will be expected to excel in the following areas.Server Administration in a largely open-source, UNIX-based environment.Network Administration tasks in a highly-available, routed network infrastructure.Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrate leadership in small team environments.Script development and maintenance to support administrative duties.Identify and implement process automation.Work as a part of the larger development and operations team, to provide support, guidance, and creative solutions to ongoing projects involving diverse stakeholders.Work independently on short tasks and long-term projects. Demonstrate effective time-management and prioritization skills.Provide support outside of normal business hours for occasional incident response and scheduled maintenance.Follow security best practices. Participate in continuous efforts to evaluate and improve security.Maintenance of network and system documentation. The best candidate will have a working knowledge of the following technologies.UNIX operating systems, particularly FreeBSD.Network routing and switching, including interior and exterior routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP.Firewalls, including Fortinet, Cisco, and pfVPN technologies, including IPSec and OpenVPN.Automation tools such as Ansible.Netapp filers.Common web services, including HTTP, DNS, SSH, SFTP, etc.Scripting languages, including Perl, Python, Bourne, PHP.Data-center best practices.HIPAA best practices.High Availability.Disaster Recovery.
