THE JOB: This position sits within the Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence group, which is comprised of flat teams whose work tends to be fast paced and can be both collaborative and individual. The BI Lead Developer role is a key liaison who is responsible for working directly with business users to translate their needs into useful data that will enable the larger organization to make strategic and informed decisions. The business currently leverages tableau for most of its BI reporting and, while that will be a major focus of this position, this individual will also play an important role in the design, development, and maintenance of other BI related software and systems, including integrations with databases and ERP systems, as well as helping to define the overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts). Essential duties and responsibilities: Work independently with users to define BI concepts, information needs and defining functional requirements, specifications and recommendations related to a proposed solution Lead and perform complex analysis in an evolving data environment. Extract and analyze data, patterns, and related trends as needed, with the subsequent ability to synthesize the data into information consumable by organization. Ensure high levels of Business Intelligence system availability through support functions and in-depth testing. Responsible for the efficient, compliant, timely, secure acquisition, integration, provision, and exchange of the enterprise data. Work with external vendors and internal business and technology staff to accurately gather and interpret requirements, specifications, and database models to determine appropriate data warehouse development solutions. Required Education, skills and experience Bachelor’s degree required Minimum of 3-5+ years’ of demonstrable experience working with business stakeholders Minimum of 5-8+ years’ of related technical experience: 5+ years’ experience with developing programs using SQL 5+ years’ experience with the semantic layer of any one Business Intelligence tools OBIEE, Tableau, Cognos, SAP BW, Business Objects etc. Preferred to have Tableau development skills in addition to Oracle BI suite of products Experience in developing Business Intelligence environment based on OLAP and OTLP frameworks 5+ years’ experience with the ETL development Expertise in any one tool is required. Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Informatica, Datastage 8+ years’ experience in developing data warehousing systems for enterprises The ideal candidate will also bring some or all of the below: MBA or advanced degree in a related field Prior experience managing direct reports or other examples of proven leadership capabilities Ability to resolve data related issues including complex data modeling challenges Knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodology, a plus. Any software language like .Net, Java, VB Familiarity/experience with the following products: Hyperion (HFM, Hyperion Close Management, Hyperion Planning, Essbase) FDMEE, BPM Workflow, DRM, SPSS or SAS Exposure to any one ERP (SAP Oracle) data structures and functional knowledge of any given process domain
