Job description

Our client is a rapidly scaling patient technology company in the health care space. They have an end-to-end home patient experience and referral platform and are quickly becoming the go-to-brand for medical care providers. They are looking to scale their platform as their business continues to expand and they need an experienced QA Analyst to be responsible for assuring that their platform running smoothly. The person in this role will have a good understanding of software development testing methods, technologies and best practices that affect the quality and security of their applications.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Create test plans and solicit the areas impacted by a change or enhancement to the application, database or system, in coordination with dev and product teams
  • Partner with team members, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and use cases to develop and document effective test cases
  • Act as an escalation point and work closely with dev team, customer support, and product to reproduce, analyze and document any defects discovered or reported
  • Perform pre-deployment and post-deployment regression and verification testing in the production environment
  • Perform product performance benchmarking
  • Document, monitor, track, and report on QA testing, test cases, defects, etc. within Agile stories
  • Participate in retrospectives and speak to details on issues, situations, or improvements
  • Follow and understand industry best practices that impact the security of the software, database, or systems ie. security, threats, and vulnerabilities (OWASP, NIST, etc.) and how these concerns should be addressed in testing


Professional Experience

  • 2+ years as a QA Analyst or Software Developer or other related IT field.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs and Single Web Page applications, including Chrome/Firefox dev tools
  • Experience writing SQL statements (select, insert, update, delete, JOINs, etc.) using MySQL Workbench or similar
  • Working knowledge of Linux or Unix type OS systems (ie. Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Git and Github
  • Working knowledge using JIRA, or similar, for user stories or a similar tool and Confluence for documentation
  • Familiarity with Jenkins or other types of automated build and deployment systems
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following languages: Python, PHP, JavaScript a plus
  • Knowledge of Angular.js and browser side frameworks a plus
  • Experience in the healthcare domain with knowledge of HIPAA, HL7, CCD, etc. a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent applicable work experience
