Job description

Application Support Engineer to support various financial service and batch processing systems. 

Essential Duties

  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues involving banking systems and processes.
  • Troubleshoot problems with .NET applications, databases, job scheduling, server and data issues.
  • Work with business users, business partners and vendor support staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other IT groups such as DBA, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure effective implementation and operation of systems
  • Track and report on production issues
  • Discover and document application defects in production environments. Inform and support application development teams to effectively resolve defects
  • Review production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize job failures
  • Coordinate testing, change management, and production elevation procedures
  • Design and implement process improvement using scripting and automation technology
  • Participate in DR / BCP activities as assigned
  • Be available to participate in the on-call support rotation


Education:  Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Possess excellent analysis and problem solving skills in the area of software and IT infrastructure.
Understanding in the following concepts: Microsoft .NET Applications, IIS, SQL Server, BizTalk and application server administration.

Progressively responsible experience with Microsoft application architectures in a production environment, or supporting a major operating system in a full scale, large volume production application environment

Preferred Experience:

Hands-on experience with IIS, .NET, MS SQL Server, and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell. 

Banking or other financial industry experience
