 You'll love being an Information Assurance Engineer if: (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

  • You have a minimum 3 years of experience with information assurance.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience using network vulnerability scanning tools
  • You have at least 3 years of experience implementing ICD503
  • You know the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
  • You understand NIST 800-53 controls and have experience completing a SRTM
  • You meet DoD 8570 minimum requirements for Information Assurance positions
  • You are able to express yourself well orally and in writing (a writing sample is required)
  • You are able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Know how to analyze and evaluate system security technology, policy and training requirements in support of Federal, DoD, and Intelligence Community (IC) and INFOSEC policies
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree/high school diploma (experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)  and an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance

  • You have at least three years IA experience in the Intelligence Community
  • You have experience with NESSUS/Security  Center, SPLUNK, CONFLUENCE, and/or Symantec End Point Protection 
  • You have CISSP, CISM, or CASP certifications. 
  • Microsoft MCSE/MCSA certification

What your day will look like:

  • You'll work with a small IA team to conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation and POAM validation.
  • You will review audit logs and document anomalies
  • You will assist in maintaining the continuous monitoring program
  • You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. 
  • You will provide technical insight and guidance to the customer for selection of security controls and processes.
  • You will monitor networks for security incidents, service levels and other key performance metrics.
  • You will write and review System Security Plans (SSP) to meet all IC and DoD accreditation requirements 
  • You will provide day-to-day support of SIPRNET and JWICS data and voice networks.
