Be our new eCommerce Platform Engineer in a DevOps scrum team producing the next generation eCommerce product for MBUSA - a strong platform engineer that values collaborating closely with business partners to deliver “the best or nothing” online shopping experience.

The DevOps team, you will be a part of, delivers eCommerce features as per the product multiyear roadmap. You work closely with multiple programs and enterprise architects to deliver seamless customer-centric online shopping experience. As a team, you and your colleagues are overall responsible for the application, including development, rollout and operations. In your role as the platform engineer, you are the expert for operations and stability within the team. You develop and deploy solutions and serves as a consultant for other employees.


Job Deliverables – as the new eCommerce Platform Engineer, you…

  • are an active part of the DevOps team in scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective
  •  review & develop cloud-based and on-premise solution architectures that integrate into standard technologies such as OIDC, Apigee, and DevOps toolsets implemented across MBUSA
  •  record IT requirements (functional and non-functional requirements), designing/documenting solutions, and establishing processes for business enabling, business-critical and mission-critical (high availability) systems
  • review codes - ensure that the developed code is based on best practices and frameworks to ensure compliance with security and industry standards
  • have a strong focus on operations and infrastructure topics
  • will be responsible for other aspects of the product like architecture, security, development, and delivery
  • are actively involved in design, deployment, test and verification, rollout and operations of the platform
  • ensure that all infrastructure and operations requirements are transparent and considered
  • ensure that the team operates within the relevant Daimler and MBUSA infrastructure and operations policies
  • are the expert and point of contact for all concerns regarding infrastructure, operations and availability
  • are responsible for the infrastructure architecture development, including architecture and development of all monitoring, logging and alerting tools
  • create processes and fully automated tools, scripts and dashboards
  • are co-developing and programming the application in order to build up the needed skillset and keep it up to date


Education


B.S. or M.S. in Technical Discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience          

Must have 7 + years (total) of knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Experience in working within an agile environment
  • Experience in HTML5 / CSS, AnjularJS / VueJS, Java / Spring Framework, API design, end-2-end Testing, Native App Development (iOS / Android), Infrastructure as Code (terraform/ansible)
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD toolchain - you have several years of experience working with automated CI/CD-pipelines like Kubernetes/Docker (e.g. using VSTS, Jenkins, Powershell, Bash)
  • Experience/ knowledge about cloud technologies, cloud infrastructure and cloud vendor solutions such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon’s AWS

  • Experience with IT security and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management and peers.
  • You love coding and solving complex problems
  • You are open-minded towards new challenges
  • You have experience with the implementation of Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
  • You have experience in network/infrastructure design and implementation (optional)
  • You have experience in designing and developing IoT Solutions (optional)
