Job description

Job Overview

Responsible for implementing and supporting applications in the cloud (public, private and hybrid) environments as well as in transforming legacy applications to the cloud.  Candidate will be responsible to provide technical direction and project leadership to all IT application areas with a strong alignment of the technical architectures, practices, security and compliance with corporate IT standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead external/internal resources and/or working with managed services vendor(s) to establish effective/collaborating working model for high productivity.

  • Develop cloud-operating models according to corporate compliance, policies and security standards.

  • Develop best practices and service/support model.

  • Develop and Support Application Recovery Plan and Disaster recovery plan.

  • Providing ongoing automation and continuous improvements for delivering high value to business applications and bringing operational efficiencies.

  • Participate in evaluate new technologies; align with company’s overall direction & strategies in adopting and building standards for future technology stack.

  • Engage in regular exchange with regional/central experts in similar function to learn, adopt and continuously improve.

  • Implementation and support of monitoring solutions for applications (e.g. Splunk, App Dynamics)

  • Build and support necessary application dashboards.

  • Provide support to customers in transitioning legacy/monolithic applications to cloud ready environment.

  • Manage new projects and resources. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Manage and support agile and scrum projects.

  • Support and utilization of DevOps toolchain for application’s continuous integration and delivery

  • Develop and execute blueprints for providing full automation from infrastructure provisioning to VMs/Containers, to middleware components for continuous integration and delivery.

  • Maintain and patch systems, software and applications to eliminate bug fixes, security vulnerabilities and maintain current technology stack.

  • Provide 24 * 7 supports for PRODUCTION applications whenever necessary.


Education

Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school)

  • Computer/Information Science

  • Information Technology

  • Engineering

  • Management Information System (MIS)


Certifications preferred:

  • Agile/Scrum, PMP and/or ITIL certification

  • AWS or Azure Cloud certifications (as an Architect, Practitioner or DevOps solutions)


Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

 
  • Must have 5+ years of related IT experience with understanding application architecture, operational support, scalability, availability, throughput, failover, etc.

  • Experience in Hybrid Cloud Operations, Architectures, Cloud brokering solutions or Cloud Management Solutions for Public/Private Cloud

  • Experience with Infrastructure Automation, Infrastructure capacity monitoring and automated scaling solutions

  • 2+ years Docker and 1+ year Kubernetes orchestration administration and troubleshooting

  • 2+ years AWS or Azure experience

  • 2+ years working in Enterprise DevOps model - Automation of application code deployment (Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, JIRA, UrbanCode etc)

  • 2+ Linux Expert level experience in Scripting Python, Perl, Bash

  • 1+ Experience with automation/management frameworks (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc)

  • 1+ in managing and supporting Application Servers and web servers architecture and operation

  • Must possess leadership and management skills, customer communication and negotiation skills.

  • Must have a diverse and extensive technical background.
