Position Summary

We are hiring a Senior SQL Developer for a great opportunity to work with an iconic car brand. This position at Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) will serve as an IT lead in the development and support of business intellignce (BI) and analytic systems across the North America enterprise. The position will be responsible for all aspects of projects related to database systems and analytics packages including the analysis, design, development, and ongoing support of decision support systems and analytical tools, enhancements, and upgrades. Additionally, this position will be expected to become an expert on Porsche business processes as it relates to the warehoused data.


  • Serve as one of the primary contacts between PCNA business units, the Porsche parent company, and application development partners
  • Design, development, and testing of system enhancements to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Interact with business owners to gather requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Assists in database design, programming, troubleshooting and management of problems affecting IT and enterprise database applications, as well as developing the area for future expansion.
  • Provide expertise in both the business process and the systems that support processes.
  • Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to define project scope, requirements, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Debug and tune/optimize SQL code either directly or indirectly from application.
  • Lead and manage problem solving and change management activities.
  • Provide alternative system changes to business owners to help support changes in user requirements, communicating the benefits, cost and limitations of each approach.
  • Maintains customer focus; increase IT customer satisfaction with business users.
  • Communicate system changes to vendors, providing knowledge of business process in support of the development team.
  • Track and monitor open issues for assigned areas with multiple vendors / business units and escalate problems as necessary.
  • Ensure IT management is updated on local IT status on assigned support and project related activity.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics or comparable experience


  • Minimum 5 years of IT analyst/consulting experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Business Intelligence/SQL Development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of SQL Server 2012+ experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of functional IT Lead experience.


  • Extensive ETL using SSIS
  • Strong MS SQL Server skills (Ability to write complex queries and implement performance tuning)
  • Critical thinking/problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
