Job Description: Graduate Software Developer Reports to: Senior Software Engineer or Operations Director General Requirements This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop their career in Software Development, learning technologies and skills as they develop, with potential to move up the career ladder within the company. As the individual develops they will also have the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the business such as Project Management, Client Support or Pre-Sales Support (Joining Sales Managers when meeting potential new customers) etc. Experience Understanding of the design and programming processes in support of a software product throughout the application lifecycle A methodical approach towards working & willingness to learn. Easy and confident communication with clients, the development team and account management. Technical Knowledge Knowledge or familiarity of some the following technologies are not essential but would be an advantage. Application: Java, Spring, Maven, HTML, JS, CSS, JSP, JQuery, AJAX, Hibernate Databases: Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL OS: Windows, Linux, WildFly Web: Apache, Mod_jk Delivery Tools: Jenkins, selenium Good understanding of all stages of a web request from browser to server & back and how this is structured. Responsibilities Become a valued member of the development team sharing responsibilities in the end-to-end implementation of complex product customisations. Assist with the specification, development and implementation of customised and configured software interfaces to meet clients requirements. Documentation of design & requirements. Providing support for clients, with possibility of outside of normal office hours required during key “peak periods”. This would involve supporting production servers and possibly deploying releases to clients. Able to work well under pressure, keeping a cool level head and being able to manage their time well whilst working on multiple projects. Typical Profile University education in a Technical Subject. Self starter & fast learner, able to hit the ground running and be able to investigate and resolve issues on their own if required. Ideal first role for University Graduate or someone in the early stages of a Software Developer career.
