Job Description

Role Purpose:

Create, implement and maintain new and existing mobile applications by translating the UI/UX design into usable app solutions that will meet customers’ requirements thus improving Bupa mobile app users’ experience.

Accountabilities:

Solutions Design

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to clearly understand the business requirements
  • Develop clear and accurate Technical Design Documents (TDD) to define clearly and in detail the mobile app technical design using best archtecture principles followed by Bupa
  • Comply with the program standards, processes and technical standards defined for the project and Cyber Security protocols
  • Collaborate with the team members in sprint planning, review and retrospective
  • Recommend changes to improve the reliability, scalability, maintanabiity, security and performance of developed systems
  • App Development & Delivery

  • Develop testable and efficient mobile application using OutSystems platform
  • Ensure active involvement in Change Advisory Board (CAB) to clarify development work done
  • Strive to apply OutSystems best practice in all aspects of work
  • Implement new functionality and upgrades on existing Bupa mobile application
  • Integrate Cordova plugins or develop new plugin if needed
  • Build reusable components by following O/S modular programming and architecture design
  • Integrate data from various back-end web services and databases using SOAP and REST APIs
  • Work closely and effectively with the team members to meet the project milestones and business requirements as per BRD
  • Understand UX and UI design, so end-user requirements can be effectively translated into technical solutions
  • Application Support

  • Support the testing of applications either in Development or Quality Assurance environment including the required penetration testing to ensure arising issues are timely and properly resolved
  • Analyse errors, performance and monitor logs using O/S analytic tools to troubleshoot, identify and fix App performance issues post-deployment
  • Create, manage and audit users activity by using O/S Lifetime and Service center
  • Participate actively in the change request process which includes performing impact assessment, testing and implementation plan and code review report
  • Improve code quality through unit tests, automation and performing code reviews using O/S Service center
  • Implement application deployment from development environment to quality assurance and finally production environment by following O/S best pratice
  • Perform continued enhancements to meet the Bupa’s business requirements

  • Constantly keep up to date with latest OutSystems technological innovations and solutions through O/S community forums, O/S University courses and coaching by O/S technical success manager
  • Discover new components through O/S forge that will extend the mobile application capabilities
  • Engage in code and quality reviews to review, analyse, improve and share coding skills
  • Demonstrate an interest in learning new technologies that will contribute in achieving Bupa digital strategies
  • Propose digital innovative solutions which will improve the customer experience, optimize processes through automation, manage medical costs effectively and contribute growth in the business
  • Proactive Management & Analysis

  • Measure the end-user experience in production environment based on Bupa’s standard indicators of user satisfaction
  • Use O/S monitoring and analytical tools to conduct a comprehensive audit and monitor proactive management of application performance
  • Analyse errors and performance logs using O/S Service center to help teams efficiently prevent to any issue that may arise
  • Collect metrics of how applications are performing to monitor and troubleshoot runtime issues e.g. client, network and service metrics
  • Create dashboard and report from O/S analytics to automatically identify issues
  • Investigate server response times by logging and reporting maters such as slow queries, integration responsiveness, or custom code request time.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
  • Skills

    Years of Experience

  • 3-5 years minimum experience in systems development preferably in mobile app development
  • Skills Required

  • Proficient in C#.Net
  • Experience working in Agile teams & strong knowledge of agile methodologies
  • Proficient with OutSystems Service Studio & Integration Studio
  • Knowledgeable in using Life time and Service center
  • Experience in Outsystems app library Forge integrating with repository of application modules and components.
  • Proficient in API Integrations e.g. SOAP, REST
  • Proficiency in web based languages (JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, HTML)
  • Familiarity with agile development and software engineering best practices
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Multitask and prompt response to problems
